I was a little apprehensive to use a super hero theme, only because my son is so into costumes and I have been saving this idea for him. However, when Olivers mother told me he had a cape with a giant O on it, I couldn't think of a better theme.

Mr. O wanted nothing to do with the camera, but once I saw his reaction to my sons toys, bat wings, and weapons,... I knew we would capture some fun and unique action shots.

Mission accomplished!!...

Can I just tell you how in love with this session I am?

I am in lalaLOVE!

Not only were the colors they were wearing perfect for this location, this family was also so much fun to shoot. They laughed and giggled the whole time, they were up for all my crazy ideas {including every single one of them climbing on top of a hay bale}, and their interaction with each other was so sweet! The wind was super annoying, but we rolled with it and got some great shots!

This location has been super popular this year and I don't mind one bit! I think that when people first see it, they are in shock, because it is literally a small shed and a junk yard! What can I say?... I am in love with old buildings and junk!...They photograph so well.

The B family was so easy to capture. Their four kids were not only super adorable, they were also so well behaved! LURVE IT! { Their cuteness was seriously edible!} They had to endure two nights of back to back photo sessions, and they smiled the entire time. How is this possible? I think it is safe to say that this was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended! And I was the lucky girl to photograph it all! I know.. I know.. my job is tough,... but someone has to do it.:)

Mr. M has been my childrens teacher for the past two years, and can I just say....BEST.TEACHER.EVER! I am so sad that he didn't move up two grades so that each of them could have him again.:(

The Tetons were deep blue and reminded me of the song "America the Beautiful". "For purple mountains majesty", is an understatement. I'm pretty sure they were standing somewhere just like this when they wrote the lyrics to that song! The sky could not have been more beautiful, and the couple,... Breathtaking! Could he have picked a more gorgeous bride? Wowza!

Everything was done beautifully, simply, & extremely elegant.

I spent a whopping 12 hours at the resort, and my camera was never put down for a second. It was a photographers HEAVEN! Seriously peeps,.. what can be more perfect than a wedding on the top of snow capped mountains, overlooking the Tetons, a gorgeous couple, & an amazing family!? I think NOTHING!

Not only were people literally skiing and boarding down the slopes in their bathing suits, we also all got sunburned it was so nice out!

*If I were to sum up this day in one word, it would definitely be SWOON!

Introducing the lovely L! Isn't she Gorgeous!?

Can I just let you all know what a dork I am? Seriously! L's FB picture is of her grandpa, so the entire time I was e-mailing her I asumed she was a he, and an elderly he at that. It wasn't until I wrote "can't wait to meet your lovely bride", and she responded, "I will see you tomorrow", that I realized it wasn't her on the profile pic! Too funny and embarassing!
L mentioned that her wedding colors were red and orange,and of coarse I turned it into a theme and used apples and oranges as props! Love the Apple and orange bouqets we put together!
I have absolutely loved getting to know you L, I fell in love with your sweetness and can"t even stand what a cute couple you and E make!

The owner of the orchards began walking her horse, and of coarse I asked if we could get some shots with it!:) I really wanted L to get on her or even cuddle in close, but I think she was extremely frightened of the horse, or me? Not sure?

I always get to use my most off the wall, crazy ideas on family,...& I love it!

My sweet sister in law K was such a good sport and allowed me to run wild with this shoot. They named their baby Alice, and I have been so excited to take pictures of this absolutely, positively, edible baby girl. I have also been dying to have an Alice In Wonderland themed shoot!

When I was little I loved playing dress up, and even more than dressing up I loved make believing I was the characters from books and movies. I was especially obsessed with Alice In Wonderland and The Secret Garden. I use to ask for a tea set every year for Christmas, and I would hide keys in the back yard and pretend to find them and discover a door to my own little secret Garden..:)
I was so excited to revisit my childhood and play dress up with my baby niece. I broke out the vintage baby doll dresses, made HUGE hair bows, gathered all my skeleton keys, and even had Whoopie {our bunny} part of the shoot! SO MUCH FUN!

After the shoot my oldest daughter asked if I could keep the props up so that she could play Alice In Wonderland. ♥ that she has such a wild imagination. She reminds me so much of myself when I was her age.

Those who don't already know, I come from a rather large family..., Ten in fact!.... six whopping girls & two boys at the end! We are all married and now have 21 grandkids ages 9 and under. Oh, & 2 more on their way!:) Needless to say,.. I am a very happy and busy auntie. I love all of my nieces and nephews, and love when I get to photograph them. Baby Willow is #21 & has been born since this shoot. She is the sweetest and most perfect little jelly bean ever., And to go along with her super adorable and unique name, we took the pictures under a gigantic Willow tree! Fabulous Right? My nephew is equally as cute, and I cannot get enough of his chubby little cheeks and those bright baby blues!.

I have a problem with being a BIG FAT BABY when it comes to my family, and I get so emotional when I edit pictures of them. I am so thankful for them in my life, and love the closeness that we all share!

I have been so excited to share this session! I was able to use a ton of my crazy ideas and I lurved every second of it! Yes,... LURVED!
This is my handsome baby brother and my newest{to be}sister in law. Aren't they such a cute couple? Not only was I able to go shopping with and pick out outfits for them, I also designed her hairpieces and jewelry!{totally in love with the white feather piece}!

I loved taking pics for this handsome guy! He is the brother of some of our closest friends, and I was shocked at how much he looks like his "much, much older" brother.Wahahaha!

His mom came along, and was making me laugh the entire time. She even reached over to zip up his zipper at one point. I'm sure D was mortified, but I couldn't stop laughing! He is the baby of the family, and his mom (like any other mother) smothered him with love!

D Loves Soccer, dirt bikes, and even rebuilt the engine in his old Ford pickup!SAWEET!

Loved everything about this shoot!,... From the bright colors they were all wearing, to each of their cute little personalities! They were all such troopers! It was my first shoot in the studio, and the heat was supposed to be turned on, but of coarse it wasn't. The pilot light was having troubles staying lit, so it was FREEZing! By the end of the shoot all of these little sweeties were purple and blue.

This handsome little man is my sweet nephew. He has made such an important decision to be baptized, and I have been so excited for his shoot!

I have never done a sneak peak of a photo session because it means I have to be at the computer that much longer,...( and we all know how much I H.A.T.E. being away from my babies), but the reason for a sneak preview is that it started to rain about 10 minutes into the shoot. YUCK! Luckily, J was perfect and smiled in every frame so we were able to get some great shots. We are going to go out and get more when the weather permits, because I have so many other ideas in this crazy head of mine!. Seriously Idaho, WHAT'S THE DEALYO!? Enough rain already!

Raising Autism Awareness....

Awareness about people with autism and their abilities and desires to lead rich, active, connected lives is on the rise, and I am so proud to be a small part in raising such awareness!

Saturday, April 2, marks the fourth annual World Autism Awareness Day designated by the United Nations. Decades of research and practice has proven what United Nationals Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon recently explained,

“All children and adults with autism can lead full and meaningful lives in society. To do so, they simply need great understanding and supports.”

April is also designated as National Autism Awareness Month. We encourage everyone to spend time this month learning more about autism and the issues that are important to the autism community.

The Piece By Piece Foundation is a non-profit organization raising Autism Awareness in Idaho!

This GORGEOUS lady is the newest member of our crazy family! I couldn't be happier for her and my baby brother to be married! I have been so anxious to share these pics, but had to wait until after they were married so that he wouldn't see her dress.

K, not only are you beautiful, fun loving, easy going, & extremely talented,..... any girl that can come into a family with 6 girls, and hold her own, is definitely a keeper! I love that you feel comfortable enough to hang out with all of us girls, and that you can have fun and be crazy with us. Birthday Girl....

This little cupcake is turning one in a few weeks, and her parents wanted pics done for her birthday invites. As you all know my studio is still in the process of being put together, so I made a little make shift studio at my house! Isn't she the cutest? Happy birthday sweet baby!

I was so excited when asked to shoot this session! Dance has always been such an obsession of mine, whether I am doing it, watching it, or photographing it! These girls are all DROP DEAD BEAUTIFUL, and extremely talented dancers! Can you believe half of them are mommies? I love that they are all following their passions and continue to do what they love. I also love that they put up with all of my crazy ideas! That's right people.... I plopped a bed down in the middle of an alley for this shoot! We got some interesting feedback from all of the bar hoppers.Teehee! CREEPSTERS!

Meet my Beautiful sister Sharla. She is a photographers dream! Seriously... I hear VOGUE calling!

I have been so giddy to share these photos! This was my absolute, favorite type of shoot. I had complete say in EVERYTHING! EEEEK! I chose everything from the way her hair was worn, to the layered outfits, to the poses! I designed the hair pieces and jewelry, and chose the locations!

I love off the wall, unique styles and couldn't wait to put some of my crazy ideas to use! Thanks for being my model & for freezing in the snow sis. Hope you like them!

ELK...{Idaho Falls Wildlife Photographer}

I feel so lucky to live in Idaho. We live in such a beautiful place, where wildlife & nature are literally out our back doors! My dad has always had such an enthusiasm for the outdoors, and it has rubbed off on all of his children. We all have such an appreciation for nature and for it's beauty! I feel so blessed to have a hobby where I am able to be out in nature and do what I love! I love taking pictures of people, and capturing their emotion and expression, but there is something so exciting & fulfilling about capturing wildlife. It is truly addictive!

I was so excited to catch this herd of elk come down from the hills and behind my grandparents land. My heart was racing so fast as I slowly walked to the back of the land, carefully ducking behind the edge of the canal so I didn't scare the herd. As I got closer, I could hear them chewing on the vegetation that popped up through the snow. I laid on my belly and army crawled to the top of the canal bank, and under the barbed wire fence.... There they were....no more than ten feet in front of me and eating as if I weren't even there. My finger tips were already frozen, but I knew that if I made any sudden movements it would scare them off. I just laid there and watched them quietly for a moment before I began shooting. One by one they would look up at me, and then cautiously continue their afternoon snacking. As they bent their heads down to eat I would snap away, and when they looked up I would freeze. I could have stayed there for hours, but the loss of feeling in my stomach, toes, and finger tips made it impossible. I got up and slowly walked toward them hoping to get a few eye to eye shots. Of coarse, they didn't go for it, and they took off almost immediately. At least I was able to get some great action shots as they hurried up the mountain. WOW! Even writing about it makes me smile from ear to ear! I know I am the biggest corn ball there is, but I am so fascinated and IN LOVE with wildlife & nature and with this great state that I am so blessed to live in!

These were taken over a week ago, and I am still suffering from a double ear and sinus infection from being out in the cold so long. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!... and with a few more layers on next time!

This little guy found his way through the barbed fence and onto my grandparents property!
